Tom Sherman, C.E.M., C.E.A., C.D.S.M., C.C.A.S.S., Founder and President

Tom heads up SES’s energy efficiency practice. He has worked in the energy field more than 30 years. During Tom’s tenure at FirstEnergy Corporation, PCX Energy Services and Sustainable Energy Services, Tom has conducted hundreds of energy audits, performed more than 1,000 utility bill audits and tariff reviews, investigated and resolved hundreds of energy-related issues, and implement a broad range of energy efficiency projects. His energy audits typically uncover 20% or more in potential energy savings, with some longtime customers achieving more than 50% total energy savings. He is a member of Ohio Advanced Energy Economy (OAEE) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Tom is also a regular speaker at the annual Ohio Energy Conference and has presented at numerous trade conferences. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Northeastern Illinois University and his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He is also a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.), a Certified Energy Auditor (C.E.A.), a Certified Demand Side Manager (C.D.S.M.). and a Certified Compressed Air System Specialist (C.C.A.S.S.).
