Sustainable Energy Services also provides energy audits for commercial companies. SES provides an objective, third-party energy audit, which is the first step in developing a plan to reduce overall energy consumption. Among the key benefits of a detailed energy audit are an itemized list of all energy conservation measures (ECMs) and a two- or three- year base-line of energy use so that energy efficiency projects can be measured and verified against a known pattern of energy use. SES engineers have conducted many energy audits in a wide variety of commercial buildings, and stand ready to assist you.

Commercial buildings, especially large buildings, present unique challenges, especially with heating, cooling and air quality. One of the things that separate SES from other firms doing similar work is the depth we can go because of our sophisticated instrumentation. In fact, its common for SES to be called in by a client after another firm has completed an energy audit. Unfortunately, many audits fail to leave a clear road-map for justifying and implementing energy efficiency projects, especially the more complex projects. When projects require a deeper level of engineering investigation and/or a more complex financial analysis, that is where SES can make a big difference.

SES’s deliverable is a comprehensive, detailed report reviewing past energy use, tariff analysis, detailed description of each energy conservation measure with estimated savings, payback and return on investment, and a guide for implementing all projects that includes all utility rebates, financing options and engineering support. SES will not leave you holding your report and wondering what is the next step. SES will be there for the long run to assist your company with each step (but only as needed) of the journey toward large and measurable energy savings.

Commercial clients often have special needs, such as heating/cooling imbalances due to uneven solar heat gain, air infiltration/ex-filtration, waste heat recovery, motor analysis and PM, power quality, power factor, power monitoring, overloaded circuits, fuel conversion, steam vs alternative heating, etc. We are often engaged by clients to tackle specific energy related projects that deal with a particular system or area of the building.
